A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

|
relating to banning the use of pay-per-view in University |
|
|
Interscholastic athletic competitions. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 33, Education Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
new Section 33.0835 to read as follow: |
|
|
Sec. 33.0835. PAY-PER-VIEW DISALLOWED. The University |
|
|
Interscholastic League is prohibited from allowing its |
|
|
participants to use pay-per-view for broadcasting athletic |
|
|
competitions. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
