A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to the designation of a portion of State Highway 164 in |
|
Limestone County as the State Trooper Chad M. Walker Memorial |
|
Highway. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 225.190, Transportation Code, as added |
|
by Chapter 927 (H.B. 3512), Acts of the 87th Legislature, Regular |
|
Session, 2021, is redesignated as Section 225.214, Transportation |
|
Code, and amended to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 225.214 [225.190]. TROOPER CHAD M. WALKER MEMORIAL |
|
HIGHWAY. (a) The portion of State Highway 164 in Limestone County |
|
between the western municipal limits of Groesbeck [its intersection |
|
with Farm-to-Market Road 1953] and the bridge over the Navasota |
|
River [its intersection with County Road 789] is designated as the |
|
Trooper Chad M. Walker Memorial Highway. The designation is in |
|
addition to any other designation. |
|
(b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |
|
(1) design and construct markers indicating the |
|
designation as the Trooper Chad M. Walker Memorial Highway and any |
|
other appropriate information; and |
|
(2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at |
|
appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. |
|
SECTION 2. To the extent of any conflict, this Act prevails |
|
over another Act of the 88th Legislature, Regular Session, 2023, |
|
relating to nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted |
|
codes. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
