A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to transportation planning for statewide broadband |
|
|
infrastructure. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 201.991, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (b-1)(3) to read as follows: |
|
|
(3) adopt a policy comprehensively outlining the |
|
|
department's strategy for the implementation of a statewide |
|
|
broadband infrastructure able to support new transportation |
|
|
technology broadband and to enhance accessibility throughout the |
|
|
state. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 201.9932, Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (7) to read as follows: |
|
|
(7) effects on broadband accessibility for residents |
|
|
of the region. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
