A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

|
Related to the production of water from a well |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

|
SECTION 1. Section 36.117, Water Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
subsection (c-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) A district may not restrict the production of water from |
|
|
any well described by Subsection (b)(1), except as provided by |
|
|
Subsection (c-1). |
|
|
(c-1) A district may restrict the use of water from a well |
|
|
described by Subsection (b)(1) for the irrigation of turf grass or |
|
|
ornamental landscape. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
