R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The recognition of January 22-28, 2023, as National
  Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists Week is a fitting tribute
  to the contributions of these vital medical professionals; and
         WHEREAS, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) are
  advanced practice registered nurses who are qualified to make
  independent judgments regarding all aspects of anesthesia care
  based on their education, training, and licensure; providing
  anesthesia care to patients in the United States for more than 150
  years, CRNAs were the first professional health care workers to
  administer anesthesia; and
         WHEREAS, CRNAs are the primary anesthesia providers in rural
  communities in Texas and continue to be the primary providers of
  anesthesia care to U.S. military personnel; and
         WHEREAS, CRNAs practice in every setting in which anesthesia
  is delivered, including traditional hospital surgical suites and
  obstetrical delivery rooms, critical access hospitals, ambulatory
  surgical centers, and the offices of dentists, podiatrists,
  ophthalmologists, pain management specialists, and more; they
  deliver specialized, cost-effective care to all patients--from
  newborns to seniors--for every type of procedure; and
         WHEREAS, Texas is home to more than 5,000 CRNAs who have
  devoted their careers to providing safe and compassionate care to
  the citizens of the Lone Star State, and they are indeed deserving
  of special commendation; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize January 22-28, 2023, as National
  Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists Week and extend sincere
  appreciation to all those who serve as certified registered nurse
  anesthetists in Texas for the important role they play in providing
  quality health care.
