R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Bridgett Wilson, a 15-year-old junior at Terrell |
|
High School, has made history by becoming the youngest credentialed |
|
member of the American Academy of Professional Coders; and |
|
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Terrell, Ms. Wilson obtained |
|
her Certified Professional Coder credential through a virtual, |
|
instructor-led training program offered by Arkansas State |
|
University Three Rivers in association with AAPC; she enrolled in |
|
the program alongside her mother, Rose Wilson, who immigrated to |
|
the United States from Kenya and who currently works in the |
|
radiology department at White Rock Medical Center in Dallas; the |
|
Wilson family also includes Bridgett's two younger sisters, for |
|
whom she hopes to set a good example; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to excelling in various advanced |
|
placement courses, Bridgett Wilson is currently a member of her |
|
school's Honor Society and drill team; she is also pursuing an |
|
associate's degree from Trinity Valley Community College through a |
|
dual credit program; after her graduation from high school, she |
|
plans to study dentistry at Texas A&M University on her way to one |
|
day opening her own pediatric dental or orthodontic practice; in |
|
the meantime, she hopes to use her professional coding |
|
certification to find part-time or volunteer work as a medical |
|
coder; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has worked toward her |
|
goals with exceptional diligence and determination, and she may |
|
take justifiable pride in this achievement as she looks forward to a |
|
future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bridgett Wilson on becoming the |
|
youngest credentialed member of the American Academy of |
|
Professional Coders and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Wilson as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
