R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Clover Club of Kaufman celebrated its 125th
  anniversary on May 12, 2022; and
         WHEREAS, This notable organization traces its origins back to
  1897, when its four charter members founded a club to study American
  history and literature; the group was initially known as the
  Four-Leaf Clover Club, and in 1899, its name was shortened to the
  Clover Club; in 1903, the group joined the General Federation of
  Women's Clubs, an international organization dedicated to
  philanthropy and volunteerism; and
         WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Clover Club has worked
  tirelessly to improve the quality of life in the community; it
  played an instrumental role in establishing the Kaufman County
  Library in 1968, and it has continued to contribute to the library
  through monetary donations; moreover, the club has supported a
  variety of initiatives focused on arts and culture, the
  environment, education, civic engagement, and health and wellness;
  and
         WHEREAS, Today, the Clover Club benefits from the able
  guidance of president Barbara Harvey, and its members have the
  opportunity to participate in a number of education, training, and
  leadership programs; the organization has received honors from the
  City of Kaufman and the General Federation of Women's Clubs; and
         WHEREAS, For more than a century, the members of the Clover
  Club of Kaufman have been a dynamic and positive force in their
  community, and it is a pleasure to recognize the group for its long
  history of exceptional service; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Clover Club of Kaufman on its
  125th anniversary and extend to all those associated with the club
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Clover Club of Kaufman as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
