R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Lynne Humphries retired from Allen Boone Humphries
  Robinson LLP on January 1, 2023, drawing to a close an outstanding
  legal career that spanned four decades; and
         WHEREAS, Prior to attending law school, Ms. Humphries worked
  as a journalist and television writer in Australia for three years;
  after returning to the United States, she earned her juris doctor
  degree in 1982 from Southern Methodist University, where she
  graduated cum laude and was a member of the Order of the Coif;
  during her time at the university, she also worked as an editor of
  the Journal of Air Law and Commerce; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Humphries was employed at Vinson & Elkins LLP
  for two decades before becoming a founding partner at Allen Boone
  Humphries Robinson LLP; throughout her 20-year tenure at ABHR, her
  practice focused on public law, with extensive experience in urban
  development and special districts; she served as general counsel
  and bond counsel to numerous political subdivisions, and she
  frequently negotiated with local government officials regarding
  land development and zoning issues; a member of the State Bar of
  Texas, she also belongs to the Houston Bar Association; and
         WHEREAS, Active in her community, Ms. Humphries is involved
  with numerous Fort Bend charities; she has been honored with an
  Association of Water Board-Texas Directors 2022 Visions Award and
  with the Girls, Inc. Eileen Campbell Vanguard Award; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Humphries enjoys the love
  and support of her husband, Rod, and their three sons, Scott, Mark,
  and Justin, as well as their three grandsons, Jackson, Sam, and
  Theo; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to her clients, her firm, and her
  profession, Lynne Humphries has earned the respect and admiration
  of all who have had the privilege of working with her, and she may
  indeed reflect with pride on her achievements as she embarks on the
  next exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Lynne Humphries on her retirement
  from Allen Boone Humphries Robinson LLP and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Humphries as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
