R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The San Leon Municipal Utility District is hosting a |
|
|
dedication ceremony on February 24, 2023, to name a water tower in |
|
|
honor of the late Joseph Lynn Manchaca; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his community, Mr. Manchaca |
|
|
served as president of San Leon MUD for 16 years, and under his able |
|
|
leadership, the district secured funding for the area's water |
|
|
tower; Mr. Manchaca also gave generously of his time and talents as |
|
|
vice president of the Dwane Caldwell Military Scholarship and |
|
|
Charity Foundation and as chaplain of the Sons of the American |
|
|
Legion, and he was a lifetime member of the San Leon Fire |
|
|
Department; in addition, he volunteered with the Sisters Helping |
|
|
Sisters Brotherhood and with the San Leon Yard Birds; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Manchaca's professional achievements included |
|
|
establishing his own vehicle repair shop, working for Satellite |
|
|
Logistics Group, and serving as North American director of |
|
|
warehouse operations for the international logistics firm |
|
|
Hillebrand; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Joseph Lynn Manchaca set an |
|
|
inspiring example of civic engagement and public service, and the |
|
|
naming of the water tower in his honor is a fitting tribute to his |
|
|
significant contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the dedication of the San Leon |
|
|
Municipal Utility District water tower in memory of Joseph Lynn |
|
|
Manchaca and commend all those involved in securing this |
|
|
designation for their efforts. |
