R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jim Harris retired as a teacher in the McMullen
  County Independent School District in 2022, drawing to a close an
  outstanding tenure in education that spanned nearly four decades;
  and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Harris holds
  a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in agricultural
  education; in 1984, he joined the faculty of McMullen County High
  School, where he taught agriculture classes for 38 years; he also
  sponsored the FFA club, and he served as an advisor and mentor to
  many students participating in state-level competitions; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Harris is the proud father of three children,
  Cotton, Charlsie, and Charity, all of whom attended McMullen County
  High; sustained by an abiding faith, he is a valued congregant of
  the First Baptist Church of Tilden; and
         WHEREAS, With his professionalism, expertise, and unwavering
  dedication, Jim Harris has earned the lasting respect of his
  colleagues and of the countless students whose lives he forever
  enriched, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well
  spent as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jim Harris on his retirement from
  the McMullen County Independent School District and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for
  Mr. Harris as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of
  Representatives.
