R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jim Harris retired as a teacher in the McMullen |
|
|
County Independent School District in 2022, drawing to a close an |
|
|
outstanding tenure in education that spanned nearly four decades; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Harris holds |
|
|
a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in agricultural |
|
|
education; in 1984, he joined the faculty of McMullen County High |
|
|
School, where he taught agriculture classes for 38 years; he also |
|
|
sponsored the FFA club, and he served as an advisor and mentor to |
|
|
many students participating in state-level competitions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Harris is the proud father of three children, |
|
|
Cotton, Charlsie, and Charity, all of whom attended McMullen County |
|
|
High; sustained by an abiding faith, he is a valued congregant of |
|
|
the First Baptist Church of Tilden; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With his professionalism, expertise, and unwavering |
|
|
dedication, Jim Harris has earned the lasting respect of his |
|
|
colleagues and of the countless students whose lives he forever |
|
|
enriched, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well |
|
|
spent as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jim Harris on his retirement from |
|
|
the McMullen County Independent School District and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for |
|
|
Mr. Harris as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives. |
