WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt by |
the family and friends of Wade Cannon of the Flower Mound Fire |
Department, who passed away on October 1, 2022, at the age of 33, |
after a courageous battle with cancer; and |
WHEREAS, Wade Cannon served his community as a firefighter |
paramedic and had been with the department for six years; he enjoyed |
a strong bond of camaraderie with his colleagues and was recognized |
as an energetic and spirited young man with a bright future ahead of |
him; and |
WHEREAS, In 2020, Mr. Cannon received the devastating news |
that he had stage four colon cancer; refusing to give up hope, he |
endured multiple clinical trials and many rounds of chemotherapy, |

for cancer, knowing that early detection could give them a better |
chance of survival; his encouragement led two of his colleagues to |
be screened for and diagnosed with colon cancer, allowing them to |
begin potentially lifesaving treatment sooner; and |
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Cannon enjoyed the support |
of a loving family, including his wife, Chelsea Cannon, whom he |
treasured having by his side through every challenge; and |

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
