R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dalanna Carter of Barbers Hill High School earned |
|
|
well-deserved recognition with her nomination to the 2023 |
|
|
McDonald's All-American girls' basketball team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A senior at Barbers Hill, Ms. Carter has excelled |
|
|
throughout her high school career and has become a sought-after |
|
|
recruit for college programs; during the current 2022-2023 season, |
|
|
she has been a dominant force for the Eagles, helping the team climb |
|
|
to the top of the district standings; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During her sophomore and junior years, Ms. Carter |
|
|
played for Lutheran High North in Houston; she helped lead the Lions |
|
|
to consecutive state championships at the 2021 and 2022 Texas |
|
|
Association of Private and Parochial Schools state tournaments, and |
|
|
she was selected as a private school All-State honoree and the MVP |
|
|
award winner by SBLive; her high school debut came as a freshman |
|
|
player at Barbers Hill, where she earned the district Most Valuable |
|
|
Player accolade; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering commitment to |
|
|
excellence, Dalanna Carter has brought tremendous pride to her |
|
|
school and her community, and her accomplishments on the basketball |
|
|
court truly merit special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dalanna Carter on her nomination to |
|
|
the 2023 McDonald's All-American girls' basketball team and extend |
|
|
to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Carter as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
