R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Wayne Alexander Shaw of Lake Jackson on January 20, 2020,
  at the age of 81; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Annie and Wayne D. Shaw, Wayne Shaw was
  born on July 26, 1938, in Corpus Christi; after graduating from Roy
  Miller High School in 1957, he attended Southwest Texas State
  University and went on to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Shaw moved to the Brazosport area in the early
  1970s after buying Champions Beer Distributorship, and he would
  later become the founder and owner of Eagle Communications Group,
  Inc., a position he held for more than a decade; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Shaw was deeply committed to his community and
  served in numerous civic organizations, including the Brazosport
  Area Chamber of Commerce and the Brazosport Rotary Club, which he
  led as president, and he played an instrumental role in the
  establishment of Brazoria County Day at the State Capitol; in
  addition, he was active in the Associated Builders and Contractors
  Texas Gulf Coast Chapter and founded the Brazosport Business
  Roundtable, and he gave generously of his time to free enterprise
  education, developing and presenting motivational programs to over
  12,000 area high school students; recognized as a Paul Harris
  Fellow by the Brazosport Rotary Club, he received the Rotarian of
  the Month award on 10 separate occasions; he was also honored as
  Outstanding Man of the Year in 1997 by the Brazosport chamber; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Shaw benefited from the
  love and support of his wife, Sandra, with whom he shared a
  rewarding marriage that spanned 37 years; he took great pride in
  their four sons, Brad, Blake, Jason, and Michael, and he had the
  pleasure of seeing his family grow to include eight grandchildren,
  Dylan, Tori, Connor, Katelyn, Britney, Ian, Emma, and Shaw; and
         WHEREAS, Although Wayne Shaw is deeply missed, he has left
  his loved ones with a wealth of memories that they will forever
  cherish; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Wayne Alexander Shaw
  and extend heartfelt condolences to his family and friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Wayne Shaw.
