R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Francis H. Wright Jr. is making vital |
|
contributions to the health and well-being of his fellow Texans |
|
through his efforts as the presiding officer of the Chronic Kidney |
|
Disease Task Force; and |
|
WHEREAS, Appointed by the governor in 2021, Dr. Wright leads |
|
the task force in educating health care professionals and |
|
coordinating the implementation of the state's plan for prevention, |
|
early screening, diagnosis, and management of chronic kidney |
|
disease; and |
|
WHEREAS, In the course of a career that has spanned more than |
|
four decades, Dr. Wright has performed over 3,000 transplants; he |
|
currently serves as the medical director for Transplant Care |
|
Consultants, and his previous roles include director of the Solid |
|
Organ Transplant Program, director of organ transplantation and of |
|
the Transplant Surgery Fellowship Program at the Texas Transplant |
|
Institute at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San |
|
Antonio, and director of the transplant program at Centennial |
|
Medical Center in Nashville; and |
|
WHEREAS, A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, |
|
Dr. Wright takes an active role in his professional community; he |
|
has served as president of the Southeastern Organ Procurement |
|
Foundation and the American Foundation for Donation and |
|
Transplantation and on a number of committees of the United Network |
|
for Organ Sharing; he holds a medical degree from The University of |
|
Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Francis Wright has earned widespread admiration |
|
for his exceptional skill, professionalism, and dedication, and he |
|
is indeed deserving of recognition for his work on the Chronic |
|
Kidney Disease Task Force; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Dr. Francis H. Wright Jr. for his |
|
service as the presiding officer of the Chronic Kidney Disease Task |
|
Force and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Dr. Wright as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
