R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt by |
|
the family, friends, and colleagues of Andrew Wesley Jefferies of |
|
Galveston, who passed away on February 7, 2023, at the age of 40; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Andy Jefferies was born in Houston on October 25, |
|
1982, to Tina and Andrew Jefferies; he was raised with the |
|
companionship of two brothers, Bobby and Ian; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to protecting the lives and property of |
|
his fellow citizens, Mr. Jefferies was a 16-year veteran of the |
|
Galveston Fire Department; he shared a strong bond of camaraderie |
|
with his colleagues and served on numerous committees of the local |
|
chapter of the International Association of Fire Fighters, which he |
|
further benefited as vice president of the executive board; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Jefferies was the proud father of four children, |
|
Dade, Aidan, Carter, and Mackenzie; his circle of loved ones also |
|
included his partner, Dahnia; he enjoyed taking things apart to see |
|
how they worked, sharing the music he liked with others, and |
|
entertaining everyone around him with his witty sense of humor; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too |
|
soon, Andy Jefferies will forever be remembered with great |
|
admiration and affection, and he leaves behind a record of public |
|
service that will forever remain a source of pride to his loved |
|
ones; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Andrew Wesley |
|
Jefferies and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his |
|
passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Andy |
|
Jefferies. |
