R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Country music artist and native Texan Clay Walker is
  playing a significant role in the fight against multiple sclerosis;
  and
         WHEREAS, Diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple
  sclerosis in 1996, Mr. Walker has since dedicated his efforts to
  raising awareness of MS, a central nervous system disease marked by
  weakness, numbness, and a loss of muscle coordination; he
  established the nonprofit Band Against MS foundation in 2003, and
  he lends his support to Race to Erase MS; moreover, he is actively
  involved with the Max Cure Foundation, which funds research for the
  development of pediatric cancer drug therapies, and with Camp
  Heartland, which assists youth who are affected by HIV/AIDS; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Beaumont and raised in Vidor, Mr. Walker has
  reached multiplatinum status with four albums, producing such hit
  songs as "What's It To You" and "She Won't Be Lonely Long" over the
  course of his nearly 30-year career; in 2021, he released his most
  recent album, Texas to Tennessee, featuring the single "Catching Up
  With An Ol' Memory"; and
         WHEREAS, Clay Walker has long provided support to those with
  multiple sclerosis and to the ongoing search for a cure, and it is
  indeed a pleasure to join in honoring him for his important work;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Clay Walker for his many contributions
  to the fight against multiple sclerosis and extend to him sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Walker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
