R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Nancy Ann Smith Williams of Temple on January 6, 2023, at
  the age of 89; and
         WHEREAS, The former Nancy Smith was born to Edward and Stella
  Smith in Marshall on November 8, 1933, and she grew up with three
  older siblings, Arthur, Bobby, and Julia Martha; on December 18,
  1955, she married her junior high school sweetheart, David Lewis
  Williams, with whom she shared a fulfilling union that spanned 54
  years until his passing in 2010; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams enjoyed a rewarding career as a legal
  secretary with the Harrison County district attorney, and in 1985
  she became a federal court clerk; active in her community, she gave
  generously of her time and talents to such organizations as March of
  Dimes, the Harrison County MHMR Sheltered Workshop, Camp Fire
  Girls, and Boy Scouts; and
         WHEREAS, This beloved woman was a devoted mother to 5
  children, Tommy, Kay, Danny, Laura, and Edward, and with the
  passing years, she had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to
  include 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Although Nancy Williams will be greatly missed, she
  has left her family with a wealth of treasured memories, and they
  will always hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Nancy Ann Smith
  Williams and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
  family: to her children, Tommy Williams and his wife, Marsha, Kay
  Lynch and her husband, Mike, Danny Williams and his wife, Margaret,
  Laura Shepperd and her husband, Leroy, and Edward Williams; to her
  grandchildren, Paul Williams and his wife, Michelle, Mark Williams
  and his wife, Whitney, Claire Lynch, Philip Lynch, David Williams,
  Mary Margaret Williams, Jarrod Shepperd and his wife, Marlie, Alli
  Munden and her husband, Jack, and Matthew Shepperd; to her
  great-grandchildren, George, Thomas, Molly, Emma, Hill, Hobbs,
  Walter, Brock, Harper, Beau, and Walker; and to her other relatives
  and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nancy
  Williams.
