R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Central Catholic High School in San Antonio is
  hosting its 10th annual Central Catholic Gala on February 25, 2023;
  and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1852, Central Catholic High School is
  the oldest boys' school in San Antonio; the college preparatory
  institution serves more than 510 students from diverse backgrounds
  and offers a learning environment focused around the Marianist
  tradition of success through scholarship, leadership, and moral
  character; and
         WHEREAS, The school has changed locations a number of times,
  and it moved into its current building in 1932; an additional floor
  was added to the facility in 1942, and between the 1970s and the
  1990s, a band hall and football and track stadium were constructed;
  in 2013, the Michael David Elizondo Library and Resource Center was
  completed, and in 2019, the school opened the Kahlig-Cowie
  Convocation Center & Mother Adele Chapel, which houses a basketball
  gym, locker rooms, a weight room, and a wellness and rehabilitation
  center, as well as a chapel; and
         WHEREAS, Each year, Central Catholic High School holds a
  fundraising gala, and since its inception, the event has garnered
  nearly $3 million to help further the school's mission; and
         WHEREAS, For 171 years, Central Catholic High School has
  provided its students with a strong foundation on which to build and
  has contributed to the vitality of the San Antonio community, and it
  is a pleasure to join in recognizing the school on this special
  occasion; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 10th annual Central Catholic
  High School Gala and extend to the school's alumni, students, and
  administrators sincere best wishes for a successful and memorable
  event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
