R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Nurse-Family Partnership Day at the State Capitol is |
|
|
taking place on February 21, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A nonprofit with network partners across the nation, |
|
|
Nurse-Family Partnership works to ensure the health and well-being |
|
|
of mothers and their children; the organization provides in-home |
|
|
nurse visits to low-income women who are experiencing their first |
|
|
pregnancy, and the visits continue until the child's second |
|
|
birthday; through the program, nurses offer valuable advice on |
|
|
child care and become a trusted resource for families in need; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since expanding its network in 1996, Nurse-Family |
|
|
Partnership has served more than 376,400 families in the United |
|
|
States; the organization has provided maternal and infant care in |
|
|
the Lone Star State for over 16 years, and more than 4,000 Texas |
|
|
families have benefited from the program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Nurse-Family Partnership has made a positive impact |
|
|
in the lives of innumerable Texans, and the nurses associated with |
|
|
the organization have earned the lasting admiration and |
|
|
appreciation of their fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 21, 2023, as Nurse-Family |
|
|
Partnership Day at the State Capitol and extend to all those |
|
|
participating sincere best wishes for a memorable and enjoyable |
|
|
visit to Austin; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
