R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Petra Deeter has made a positive impact in many
  lives as the founder of the Victim to Hero Institute; and
         WHEREAS, A survivor of child abuse and domestic violence,
  Dr. Deeter established the institute to empower other victims and
  survivors of trauma and psychological abuse; in addition, the
  organization advocates for legal reforms to address these issues;
  and
         WHEREAS, The institute provides trauma-informed education,
  resources, and support programs; moreover, it works to raise
  awareness of topics such as parental alienation, which involves
  behaviors often found in high-conflict divorce and custody
  situations; these can include speaking negatively about a parent to
  a child or in their presence, interfering with communication and
  visitation, and discussing inappropriate information to damage the
  parent-child bond; and
         WHEREAS, To advance understanding of dysfunctional family
  dynamics, the institute conducts extensive research; it has
  interviewed hundreds of parents and adult children who are
  survivors of family dysfunction; all team members have experienced
  these issues themselves and bring sincere empathy to their efforts;
  and
         WHEREAS, Petra Deeter has demonstrated an exceptional
  commitment to helping victims of parental alienation and unhealed
  childhood trauma, and it is indeed a pleasure to acknowledge her
  endeavors; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Petra Deeter for her contributions as
  founder of the Victim to Hero Institute and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Deeter as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
