R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, June Jenkins has greatly benefited her community as
  president of the Collin County Branch of the NAACP; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Jenkins activated the Collin County NAACP in
  2016, and as president, she has worked diligently to advance the
  organization's mission of ensuring political, educational, social,
  and economic equality for all people and eliminating race-based
  discrimination; under the able leadership of Ms. Jenkins, members
  advocate for equal employment opportunities, access to high quality
  education, youth leadership development, and voter mobilization;
  and
         WHEREAS, In addition to overseeing officers, leading
  internal meetings, serving as a spokesperson for the organization,
  and collaborating with local city leaders and councils, Ms. Jenkins
  has established a number of important initiatives that have helped
  further the Collin County NAACP's goals, including the Prepared to
  Lead, Ready to Serve program, which educates Black members of the
  community and encourages them to run for office; furthermore,
  during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, she orchestrated efforts
  to provide food for people of color and those experiencing
  homelessness in the county; and
         WHEREAS, Alongside her work with the NAACP, Ms. Jenkins is
  the owner of ECP Legacy Group and the founder of Noir Lifestyles of
  Collin County; she is a member of the Junior League of Collin County
  and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and she is also involved with
  Leadership North Texas; and
         WHEREAS, June Jenkins' success in leading the Collin County
  NAACP is a testament to her dedication, vision, and commitment to
  social justice and equality, and her many contributions have earned
  her the admiration and appreciation of her fellow citizens; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor June Jenkins for her service as president
  of the Collin County Branch of the NAACP and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for continued success in her important work; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Jenkins as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
