R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Restaurant owner Jose Hoffman has distinguished
  himself through his many contributions to the citizens of San
  Antonio; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman is the son of the late Amado Hoffman,
  who in 1972 opened the original El Tipico Restaurant in San Antonio;
  on May 12, 2016, the business was destroyed by fire, and Mr. Hoffman
  subsequently oversaw the rebuilding of the restaurant, which
  reopened in October 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Following his father's death in March 2017,
  Mr. Hoffman became the owner of Hoffman's Steakhouse, and today he
  is at the helm of two El Tipico locations in San Antonio, which
  together employ more than 60 area residents; dedicated to helping
  his community, Mr. Hoffman donated approximately 5,000 enchilada
  plates during the COVID-19 pandemic; his charitable endeavors have
  also included giving away free school supplies and Thanksgiving
  turkeys; and
         WHEREAS, Jose Hoffman has proven himself a business and civic
  leader of great drive and compassion, and he may indeed reflect with
  pride on his efforts to help make his community a better place for
  all; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Jose Hoffman for his contributions to
  San Antonio and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Hoffman as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
