R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Christine Bowman has been named the recipient of a |
|
|
2022 Joe S. Mundy Award from Southwestern University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 2002, the Mundy Awards were created |
|
|
as a tribute to Southwestern University alumnus and former trustee |
|
|
Joe Mundy; the awards recognize exemplary faculty and staff members |
|
|
who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the university |
|
|
and its students; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An alumnus of SU, Ms. Bowman joined the university's |
|
|
administration following her graduation in 1993, and she currently |
|
|
serves as dean of enrollment services; among her many |
|
|
responsibilities, she oversees the admissions office and plays an |
|
|
instrumental role in student recruitment; she has also led the |
|
|
Enrollment Analysis Committee for many years, and under her able |
|
|
guidance, the group has assisted with clearing student accounts, |
|
|
creating and implementing preferred name procedures, and |
|
|
strengthening parent communication; she has further distinguished |
|
|
herself as an invaluable mentor to her colleagues; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Bowman has held leadership positions with |
|
|
numerous professional organizations, among them the Texas |
|
|
Association for College Admission Counseling and the National |
|
|
Association for College Admission Counseling; in addition, she is |
|
|
the current chair of the Colleges That Change Lives Board of |
|
|
Directors, and she previously served as a co-chair for the NACAC |
|
|
National Conference in Austin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her dedication, vision, and expertise, |
|
|
Christine Bowman has greatly benefited Southwestern University and |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her peers, and she is truly |
|
|
deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Christine Bowman on her receipt of |
|
|
a 2022 Joe S. Mundy Award from Southwestern University and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important |
|
|
work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Bowman as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
