R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Coppell Independent School District is making |
|
|
vital contributions to the strength and vitality of its community |
|
|
by providing area students with a solid educational foundation on |
|
|
which to build; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Based in the city of Coppell, the district also |
|
|
serves families in Lewisville, Valley Ranch, Grapevine, North |
|
|
Irving, and Dallas; the dedicated faculty and staff teach more than |
|
|
13,000 students at the district's 18 schools; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of superintendent Dr. Brad |
|
|
Hunt, the district seeks to foster an environment in which students |
|
|
excel in every aspect of their education; among its numerous |
|
|
successes, the district has produced many National Merit Scholar |
|
|
finalists and semifinalists, and a number of district students have |
|
|
won state sports contests, achieved state recognition in fine arts, |
|
|
and taken part in national competitions; moreover, the district's |
|
|
graduates have gone on to attend prestigious state and national |
|
|
universities, enlist in the military, and establish successful |
|
|
careers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Coppell ISD collaborates with the City of Coppell |
|
|
and the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, as well as area businesses and |
|
|
educational institutions, to build a thriving, inclusive, and |
|
|
educationally focused community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Coppell Independent School District is |
|
|
committed to creating profound learning experiences for each child, |
|
|
to nurturing meaningful relationships, and to making a positive |
|
|
impact on our world, and it is indeed deserving of recognition at |
|
|
this time; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the Coppell Independent School District |
|
|
for its service to the Dallas area and extend to all those |
|
|
associated with the district sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Coppell ISD as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
