R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Jack Doraty of the Galveston Police |
|
|
Department was presented with the Officer of the Year award from the |
|
|
Rotary Club of Galveston in February 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the Rotary Club of Galveston honors local |
|
|
leaders for their service to the community; there are five |
|
|
vocational awards in total, and Sergeant Doraty was selected in the |
|
|
police officer category; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Following his service in the U.S. Army, Jack |
|
|
Doraty Jr. joined the Galveston Police Department in September |
|
|
2001; over the course of his career, he has served as a patrol |
|
|
officer, a motorcycle officer, and a SWAT operator, and he was the |
|
|
inaugural Galveston Police Department city hall officer; he was |
|
|
promoted to sergeant in August 2020, and he leads the department's |
|
|
field training program, which provides mentorship for new police |
|
|
officers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his skill and dedication to duty, Sergeant |
|
|
Doraty exemplifies the highest ideals of his profession, and he may |
|
|
indeed reflect with pride on this well-deserved recognition; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sergeant Jack Doraty on his receipt |
|
|
of the Officer of the Year award from the Rotary Club of Galveston |
|
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Sergeant Doraty as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
