R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Fernando Manuel Madrid is retiring from the San
  Elizario Independent School District Board of Trustees on March 31,
  2023, after nearly three decades of service to the district; and
         WHEREAS, Fernie Madrid began his tenure with the board of
  trustees on May 1, 1993, at the age of 25; he became the board's vice
  president in 1999, and he went on to serve as its secretary for
  approximately 14 years; he has worked alongside four
  superintendents, and he has played a significant role in a number of
  important projects, including the construction of San Elizario High
  School and Borrego and Sambrano Elementary Schools and a wide range
  of campus additions and improvements in the district; and
         WHEREAS, A 1986 graduate of San Elizario High, Mr. Madrid has
  enjoyed a successful career in retail management, and he takes
  great pride in his three children, Gilbert, Derek, and April; and
         WHEREAS, Through his tireless efforts in behalf of the San
  Elizario Independent School District, Fernie Madrid has earned the
  lasting respect and appreciation of his fellow citizens, and his
  many valuable contributions will continue to resonate in the years
  to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Fernando Manuel Madrid on his
  retirement from the San Elizario Independent School District and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Madrid as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
