R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, JD Janda, the director of fine arts for the Tomball
  Independent School District, has been named the 2023 Outstanding
  Fine Arts Administrator by the Texas Fine Arts Administrators; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Janda has distinguished himself over the course
  of his 42-year career in public education, which has included 22
  years as a music director at James E. Taylor High School and 6 years
  as the director of curriculum and fine arts for Georgetown ISD;
  since being hired to his current position with Tomball ISD in July
  2015, he has been responsible for supervising the district's dance,
  theater, visual arts, and music departments; and
         WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. Janda has steadfastly worked to
  enhance fine arts opportunities for Texas students at both the
  state and local levels; he has served in several statewide
  leadership roles, including president of the Texas Music
  Administrators Conference, president of the Texas Music Educators
  Association, and TMEA State Band chair, in addition to sharing his
  expertise as a member of the UIL State Music Technical Advisory
  Committee for multiple terms; he was also recognized by his peers at
  TMEA's annual convention in San Antonio; and
         WHEREAS, JD Janda has enriched the lives of many Texas
  students by encouraging them to explore and develop their creative
  talents, and he has set an example of excellence to which all in his
  profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate JD Janda on his selection as the
  2023 Outstanding Fine Arts Administrator by the Texas Fine Arts
  Administrators and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success with his important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Janda as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
