R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center |
|
Society are gathering in Austin on March 8, 2023, for Ambulatory |
|
Surgery Center Awareness Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
WHEREAS, An alternative to hospitalization for acute care, |
|
ambulatory surgery centers perform outpatient procedures that |
|
enable individuals to check out the same day and recover in the |
|
comfort of their own home; and |
|
WHEREAS, There are currently more than 500 ambulatory surgery |
|
centers licensed for operation by the Texas Department of State |
|
Health Services, and these facilities treat hundreds of thousands |
|
of patients each year; and |
|
WHEREAS, By providing quality medical care at a comparatively |
|
low cost, ambulatory surgery centers are helping to ensure the |
|
health and well-being of Texas residents, and these facilities are |
|
indeed deserving of recognition for the important role they play in |
|
the state's health care system; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize March 8, 2023, as Ambulatory Surgery |
|
Center Awareness Day at the State Capitol and commend the Texas |
|
Ambulatory Surgery Center Society for its work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
