R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close |
|
with the passing of Olga Valls of Corpus Christi on April 11, 2022, |
|
at the age of 81; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Manuela Arredondo, Olga Valls was |
|
born on October 17, 1940, in Alice, where she spent her childhood, |
|
and she grew up sharing in the companionship of three siblings, Joe, |
|
Aurora, and Jesus; she moved to Corpus Christi after meeting the |
|
love of her life, Luis Angel Valls, and the couple went on to share a |
|
richly rewarding marriage that spanned 64 years; together they |
|
raised four sons, Robert, Richard, John, and Rodney, and as the |
|
years passed, they were further blessed with four grandchildren, |
|
Ashley, Kevin, Mia, and J.J., and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt |
|
and Kensley; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Valls took a job with Dillard's Department |
|
Store in 1973, embarking on a long and successful career with the |
|
company; she was an exceptional employee, frequently earning |
|
recognition as a top salesperson, and she was an invaluable member |
|
of the Dillard's Dusters softball team; she was also a championship |
|
bowler, and she enjoyed antique shopping, crafting, and traveling |
|
with her husband during her retirement; and |
|
WHEREAS, Admired for her warm and generous nature, delightful |
|
sense of humor, and joyous zest for life, Olga Valls brightened the |
|
world for all who knew her, and she will forever hold a treasured |
|
place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Olga Valls and extend |
|
sincere condolences to her family and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Olga Valls. |
