R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Robin L. Hardwicke is being presented with a
  State Award for Excellence by the American Association of Nurse
  Practitioners at the organization's national conference, which is
  taking place June 20 to 25, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1991, the State Award for Nurse
  Practitioner Excellence annually recognizes one nurse practitioner
  from each state who has demonstrated superior achievement in the
  field; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her 22-year career at The
  University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Dr. Hardwicke
  has excelled in her patient care duties and in her efforts to
  educate future physicians and nurse practitioners; a member of the
  faculty at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, she
  became the first nurse practitioner to be promoted to the full
  academic rank of professor in a medical school, and she presently
  shares a joint appointment with the Cizik School of Nursing; a
  nationally known expert in HIV/AIDS, she conducts research on
  treatments and is one of only a few providers in the Houston area
  specializing in HIV care for pregnant women; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Tyler,
  Dr. Hardwicke holds a master's degree and nurse practitioner
  certification from The University of Texas Medical Branch and a
  Ph.D. from the Texas Woman's University Institute of Health
  Sciences-Houston Center; and
         WHEREAS, Robin Hardwicke has distinguished herself as an
  exemplary member of her profession, and she is held in the highest
  esteem by her colleagues in the Lone Star State and beyond; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Robin L. Hardwicke on her
  receipt of a 2023 State Award for Excellence by the American
  Association of Nurse Practitioners and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success in her important work; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Hardwicke as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
