R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Robin L. Hardwicke is being presented with a |
|
|
State Award for Excellence by the American Association of Nurse |
|
|
Practitioners at the organization's national conference, which is |
|
|
taking place June 20 to 25, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1991, the State Award for Nurse |
|
|
Practitioner Excellence annually recognizes one nurse practitioner |
|
|
from each state who has demonstrated superior achievement in the |
|
|
field; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her 22-year career at The |
|
|
University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Dr. Hardwicke |
|
|
has excelled in her patient care duties and in her efforts to |
|
|
educate future physicians and nurse practitioners; a member of the |
|
|
faculty at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, she |
|
|
became the first nurse practitioner to be promoted to the full |
|
|
academic rank of professor in a medical school, and she presently |
|
|
shares a joint appointment with the Cizik School of Nursing; a |
|
|
nationally known expert in HIV/AIDS, she conducts research on |
|
|
treatments and is one of only a few providers in the Houston area |
|
|
specializing in HIV care for pregnant women; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Tyler, |
|
|
Dr. Hardwicke holds a master's degree and nurse practitioner |
|
|
certification from The University of Texas Medical Branch and a |
|
|
Ph.D. from the Texas Woman's University Institute of Health |
|
|
Sciences-Houston Center; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Robin Hardwicke has distinguished herself as an |
|
|
exemplary member of her profession, and she is held in the highest |
|
|
esteem by her colleagues in the Lone Star State and beyond; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Robin L. Hardwicke on her |
|
|
receipt of a 2023 State Award for Excellence by the American |
|
|
Association of Nurse Practitioners and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success in her important work; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Hardwicke as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
