R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Mariachi Grulla de Plata from Grulla High School in |
|
|
Rio Grande City achieved great distinction with its performance at |
|
|
the 2023 University Interscholastic League State Mariachi |
|
|
Festival; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, On February 24 and 25, Mariachi Grulla de Plata |
|
|
joined the Lone Star State's other top mariachi competitors at the |
|
|
Seguin High School Performing Arts Center; turning in an |
|
|
exceptional showing, the band was awarded a Superior Rating in |
|
|
Division 1; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of Mariachi Grulla de Plata are Carolina |
|
|
Rodriguez, Eleazar Garza, Amador Martínez, Analí Hinojosa, Arleth |
|
|
García, Dana Flores, Eleonardo Leal, Leylanie Rodriguez, Brandon |
|
|
Garza, Juan Carlos Gonzalez, Nathaniel Horta, Nayelli Peña, Aden |
|
|
López, Isidro Otero, Santiago Elizondo, Nazario Saenz, Mía Flores, |
|
|
Julián Zarate, Joshua Flores, and Gustavo Vasquez; the students |
|
|
were ably guided by staff members Alfonso Rodriguez, Orlando De |
|
|
León, Diana Salinas, and Joziah Escamilla; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These talented young musicians have proudly |
|
|
represented their school, and they are a source of great pride for |
|
|
their fellow students and their many supporters in the community; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mariachi Grulla de Plata from |
|
|
Grulla High School on its exemplary performance at the 2023 UIL |
|
|
State Mariachi Festival and extend to all those associated with the |
|
|
band sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mariachi Grulla de Plata as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
