R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Nocona High School girls' basketball team
  enjoyed an outstanding 2022-2023 season, advancing all the way to
  the Region II championship game of the University Interscholastic
  League 2A playoffs; and
         WHEREAS, Starting the year in impressive fashion, the Lady
  Indians went undefeated in regular-season play and clinched the
  district championship; Nocona then rode a wave of momentum into the
  postseason, easily dispatching Haskell, Valley Mills, and Stamford
  High Schools to claim the team's first regional tournament
  appearance since 1995; and
         WHEREAS, Nocona opened regional action with a 34-29
  semifinals decision over Muenster High School to secure a coveted
  berth in the regional final; in that contest, the Lady Indians
  turned in a valiant effort against Lipan High School, but they saw
  their season come to an end, closing out the year with an
  exceptional final record of 37 wins and just one loss; and
         WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the Lady Indians
  received valuable contributions from each member of the roster over
  the course of the 2022-2023 campaign; these determined
  student-athletes were ably guided by head coach Kyle Spitzer and
  his staff; and
         WHEREAS, The talented and hardworking members of the Nocona
  Lady Indians basketball team proudly represented their school with
  their thrilling playoff run, and they are a source of great pride
  for their fellow students and their many supporters in the
  community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Nocona High School girls'
  basketball team on advancing to the Region II championship game of
  the 2023 UIL 2A playoffs and extend to the players, coaches, and
  staff sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
