R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Rosanne Popp of CHRISTUS St. Mary's Clinic in |
|
Houston is serving as Physician of the Day at the State Capitol on |
|
March 29, 2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Physician of the Day program at the State |
|
Capitol provides for a doctor from the Texas Academy of Family |
|
Physicians to be on call each day of a legislative session as a |
|
resource for legislators and support staff; family physicians |
|
travel from all over the state to volunteer their time and expertise |
|
at the Capitol health clinic; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Popp earned her doctor of medicine degree from |
|
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1994 |
|
and completed her residency at the McLennan County Family Practice |
|
Program in Waco; she joined CHRISTUS Health as the medical director |
|
of the Southwest Community Health Center in 2000, and today she |
|
serves as the medical director of the CHRISTUS St. Mary's Clinic, |
|
the CHRISTUS School Clinics, and the CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile |
|
Clinics; she is active in a number of professional organizations, |
|
including the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical |
|
Association, and the American Association of Family Practice; |
|
moreover, Sister Popp is a member of the Congregation of the Sisters |
|
of Charity of the Incarnate Word in Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, Dr. Rosanne Popp has |
|
provided skilled and compassionate care to countless Texans, and it |
|
is indeed a pleasure to welcome this esteemed medical professional |
|
to the State Capitol; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Dr. Rosanne Popp for her participation in |
|
the Physician of the Day program and extend to her sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Dr. Popp as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
