R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Houston Methodist has been named the recipient of
  six 2022 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Awards from
  Vizient; and
         WHEREAS, A provider-driven organization, Vizient serves more
  than half of the health care organizations in the country, helping
  to strengthen their delivery of high-value care; its prestigious
  Birnbaum Award acknowledges member health systems that demonstrate
  superior performance, as measured by the Vizient Quality and
  Accountability Study, which evaluates care across six domains:
  mortality, efficiency, effectiveness, patient centeredness,
  safety, and equity; and
         WHEREAS, Vizient recognized six Houston Methodist health
  care facilities in 2022; Houston Methodist Sugarland was ranked
  second out of 127 medical centers in the Large, Specialized Complex
  Care Medical Centers category while Houston Methodist Hospital was
  rated sixth out of 107 in the Comprehensive Academic Medical
  Centers division; out of 148 national facilities, four Houston
  Methodist hospitals placed in Complex Care Medical Centers
  category: Houston Methodist The Woodlands ranked first, Houston
  Methodist Baytown ranked second, Houston Methodist West ranked
  third, and Houston Methodist Willowbrook ranked sixth; moreover,
  these honors are a testament to the resilience and dedication of the
  hospital system's health professionals and employees during a
  period encompassing severe COVID-19 surges; and
         WHEREAS, Since its inception, Houston Methodist has worked
  tirelessly to provide skilled and compassionate care for its
  patients, and these latest accolades reflect the organization's
  ongoing commitment to excellence; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Houston Methodist on its receipt of
  six Vizient Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Awards for
  2022 and extend to the organization's physicians, staff, and
  administrators sincere best wishes for continued success in their
  important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Houston Methodist as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
