R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Page Michel began her tenure as president and chief
  executive officer of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce on
  October 3, 2022; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Michel graduated with a bachelor's degree from
  Western Carolina University, and she also holds an IOM
  certification from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for
  Organization Management; she brings to her new position more than
  20 years of experience in public relations, marketing, government
  advocacy, and nonprofit association management; previously, she
  served for 14 years as president of the Washington County Chamber of
  Commerce and Brenham Economic Development Foundation, and more
  recently, she led the Texas City-La Marque Chamber in Galveston
  County as president for two years; and
         WHEREAS, Under Mrs. Michel's leadership, the San Marcos Area
  Chamber of Commerce will continue to maintain its high level of
  excellence and community involvement; she also plans to implement
  new benefits for both members and investors; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Michel has contributed her time and talents to
  a number of statewide and local organizations, including the Texas
  Chamber of Commerce Executives, the Rotary Club, and CASA; in all
  her endeavors, she enjoys the love and support of her husband and
  their two sons; and
         WHEREAS, With her leadership experience and her
  long-standing commitment to excellence, Page Michel will
  undoubtedly be a strong and dynamic advocate for the chamber in its
  mission to support and promote the San Marcos business community;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Page Michel on her appointment as
  president and CEO of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Michel as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
