R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Bobbie Cohen has long dedicated herself to serving
  her community as a member of the Greater Houston Section of the
  National Council of Jewish Women; and
         WHEREAS, The Greater Houston Section of the National Council
  of Jewish Women promotes social justice through education and
  legislative advocacy in such areas as children's rights, economic
  justice, health care, human trafficking, reproductive justice,
  LGBTQ rights, and gender-related violence; the organization's more
  than 700 members contribute to the community through a number of
  initiatives, including its Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse agency,
  its educational programs and services for homeless and foster
  youth, and its annual Back 2 School event, which provides free
  clothing, school supplies, and other items to families in need; and
         WHEREAS, Bobbie Cohen has held numerous positions on the
  Greater Houston Section of the National Council of Jewish Women
  board, including Career Branch president, and for nearly a decade,
  she has served as the group's state policy advocate; over the years,
  she has demonstrated her dedication to advancing marginalized
  communities and to supporting labor and civil rights issues through
  demonstrations and advocacy, and she has collaborated with a number
  of other organizations such as Americans United, the American Civil
  Liberties Union, Black Lives Matter, and the Texas LGBTQ Caucus;
  she has also served as a valued mentor; and
         WHEREAS, Through her leadership and commitment to uplifting
  those around her, Bobbie Cohen has greatly benefited the Greater
  Houston Section of the National Council of Jewish Women, and she may
  indeed reflect with pride on her many contributions to the
  organization and to the greater community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Bobbie Cohen for her many years of
  service to the Greater Houston Section of the National Council of
  Jewish Women and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Cohen as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
