R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Eastlake High School FFA chapter in
  El Paso have earned great distinction during the 2022-2023 school
  year; and
         WHEREAS, Among its awards, the Eastlake FFA chapter claimed a
  10th-place showing at the area Agricultural Issues Forum Leadership
  Development Event; in this competition, students research a current
  agricultural issue, create a portfolio, develop a presentation that
  outlines the pros and cons of their topic, and present their
  findings to a panel of judges; and
         WHEREAS, In November 2022, Eastlake competed at the Rocky
  Mountain District Leadership Development Event, excelling in
  categories including senior and Spanish creed speaking,
  agricultural advocacy, greenhand quiz, and senior quiz; its
  first-place and second-place teams advanced to the Area 2
  Leadership Development Events, where they performed well in
  agricultural advocacy, agricultural issues forum, greenhand and
  senior quiz, and senior creed speaking; in February 2023, the
  Eastlake contingent competed at the Rocky Mountain District
  Speaking Development Event finishing second in agriculture policy,
  prepared public speaking, and soil stewardship as well as third in
  animal science; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of the year, Eastlake FFA students
  exhibited their poultry, rabbit, lamb, goat, and swine projects at
  the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, the San Angelo Stock Show, and
  the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and at the El Paso County Fair,
  the Southern New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo, and the State Fair of
  Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Through countless hours of preparation and an
  unwavering commitment to excellence, the Eastlake FFA members have
  brought tremendous credit to their school and their community, and
  they may take justifiable pride in their many successes; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Eastlake High School FFA
  chapter on its outstanding achievements throughout the 2022-2023
  school year and extend to all those associated with the club sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the FFA chapter as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
