R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, April 5, 2023, is a special day for the family of the
  late Josephine Arreguin Marin of Belton, as they are marking the
  100th anniversary of the birth of their cherished matriarch; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Basilio Arreguin and Severiana
  Ramirez, the former Josie Arreguin was born in Piedras Negras,
  Coahuila, Mexico, in 1923; her family immigrated to Central Texas
  at the end of that year and lived in the Three Forks area; in 1948,
  she settled in Belton; she had a tremendous work ethic and not only
  picked crops all across the country for many years, but also spent
  more than a half century employed in cleaning services, working for
  Pittman's Cleaners, Genesco Manufacturing, Torpedo Cleaning
  Service, and Comet Cleaners; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Marin was a devout Catholic, and she expressed
  her strong faith through service to her community; she was a
  founding member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton and
  gave generously of her time and talents to the Women's Ministry, the
  Guadalupanos, the KJCT, the food pantry, and other parish programs;
  warm and kind to all she encountered, she was ever guided by the
  Golden Rule; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to her family, Mrs. Marin was the proud
  mother of seven children, Francesca, Jessie, Louise "Bel," Sophia,
  Dora, Mary, and Daniel; she wed the love of her life, Juan Marin, in
  1981, and their journey together was filled with joy; through the
  years, Mrs. Marin was blessed with 20 grandchildren, Frank, Carlos,
  Dolores, Roy, Carmen, Adam, Norma, Andrea, Vidal, James, Augustine,
  Julia, Paula, Christina, Thomas, Severiana, Emilio, Greg,
  Jacqueline, and Dan, as well as 32 great-grandchildren and 22
  great-great-grandchildren; when her descendants visited, they
  often found her tending her garden, ready to greet them with a smile
  and a story; she also had a faithful companion in her beloved dog,
  Blitz; and
         WHEREAS, Although Josie Marin passed away on April 10, 2021,
  at the age of 98, she left a legacy of faith and charity that
  continues to inspire all who were privileged to know her, and she
  will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Josephine Arreguin
  Marin and commemorate the 100th anniversary of her birth; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
