R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Cheryl Fillmore of the West Oso Independent School |
|
District has been selected as an honoree for the 2023 Women in |
|
Education Awards by the Education Service Center Region 2, and she |
|
will be recognized at a banquet on March 29, 2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Fillmore embarked on her educational career |
|
with West Oso ISD in 1992, and prior to assuming her current |
|
position as athletic director in 2017, she served as a physical |
|
education coach, an AVID teacher, and a counselor; over the course |
|
of her exemplary tenure, she has worked tirelessly to elevate the |
|
district's athletic programs, and she has also encouraged countless |
|
students to strive for athletic excellence while supporting them in |
|
the pursuit of their future educational and career goals; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of West Oso High School, Ms. Fillmore |
|
attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville, where she played |
|
basketball; and |
|
WHEREAS, Cheryl Fillmore has set an outstanding example of |
|
leadership and dedication to which others may aspire, and she is |
|
indeed deserving of this noteworthy honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Cheryl Fillmore on her receipt of a |
|
2023 Women in Education Award from the Education Service Center |
|
Region 2 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
in her important work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Fillmore as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
