R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Armida Gonzalez of Corpus Christi on February 16, 2023,
  at the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Domingo and Santa Curiel Garza, the
  former Armida Garza was born in Corpus Christi on November 1, 1937,
  and she grew up with the companionship of four siblings, Carmen,
  Ruben, Domingo, and Amelia; throughout her youth, she excelled
  academically and played multiple musical instruments, including
  the violin, the clarinet, and the keyboard; she graduated from Roy
  Miller High School in 1956; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted homemaker, Mrs. Gonzalez enjoyed a
  rewarding family life with her husband, Leo Gonzalez Jr., with whom
  she shared 53 years of marriage before his passing in 2013; she was
  the proud mother of five children, Annette, Vivianna, Leo, Louis,
  and Daniel, and with the passing years, she had the privilege of
  watching her family grow to include eight granddaughters and a
  great-grandson; and
         WHEREAS, A deeply religious woman, Mrs. Gonzalez was a
  faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church;
  in her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing, listening to music, and
  singing; in addition, she was a talented writer and poet; and
         WHEREAS, Armida Gonzalez lived a rich and purposeful life
  centered around her family and her faith, and she will long be
  remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Armida Gonzalez and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  children, Annette Morgan and her husband, Mike, Vivianna Coronado
  and her husband, Steve, Leo Gonzalez and his wife, Cindie, Louis
  Gonzalez, and Daniel Gonzalez; to her granddaughters, Ava Coronado
  and Alina Coronado Rangel, Yajaira Rodriguez, Adrianna and
  Alexandra Morgan, and Madeleine, Juliette, and Leah Gonzalez; to
  her great-grandson, Idris Haji; and to her other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Armida
  Gonzalez.
