R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Paul Voelker is concluding his service as mayor of
  Richardson in May 2023, drawing to a close an exemplary tenure in
  municipal government that has spanned 10 years; and
         WHEREAS, Mayor Voelker first joined the Richardson City
  Council in 2013, and after being elected as mayor pro tempore by his
  fellow council members, he was appointed to serve as mayor in May
  2015; he was elected to that office in 2017 and went on to be
  reelected in 2019 and 2021; demonstrating strong leadership over
  the course of his tenure as mayor, he helped guide Richardson during
  a period of tremendous growth and excelled in his duties as the
  presiding officer of the city council and as the official head of
  government and representative for the city; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his community, Mayor Voelker is
  a member of the Richardson Police Department Breckenridge Park West
  crime watch patrol; he has also served on the Richardson Chamber of
  Commerce ex officio board and as an ex officio member of the
  Leadership Richardson advisory board, and he is active in the
  Leadership Richardson Alumni Association, having been a member of
  the program's Class XVI; in addition, he has previously given
  generously of his time to a number of other organizations, boards,
  and committees, including the Metroplex Mayors Association, the
  Richardson Zoning Board of Adjustments, and the Richardson
  Independent School District Foundation; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of William Penn University, Mayor Voelker
  is the CEO of TrenData Inc. and has more than three decades of
  experience working in the Richardson Telecom Corridor; in
  recognition of his expertise in the field, he was appointed to the
  IT Cluster Committee by Governor Rick Perry; in all his endeavors,
  he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Kris, and their son,
  Ryan; and
         WHEREAS, The dedication, expertise, and commitment to
  excellence demonstrated by Paul Voelker have greatly benefited the
  citizens of Richardson, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a
  job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Paul Voelker on his service as mayor of
  Richardson and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mayor Voelker as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
