R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The inaugural Kindness Crusade in the Richardson
  Independent School District took place from February 13 through 17,
  2023, providing a fitting opportunity to recognize Jane Tucker for
  designing and leading the campaign; and
         WHEREAS, A member of Altrusa International of Richardson,
  Ms. Tucker united nearly 23,000 students at Richardson ISD
  elementary schools through the Kindness Crusade; during the
  program, participants read and discussed Her Own Two Feet: A
  Rwandan Girl's Brave Fight to Walk by Meredith Davis and Rebeka
  Uwitonze, a nonfiction novel about a young girl affected by
  congenital clubfoot; the book was selected for the initiative to
  teach students the importance of kindness and empathy and to
  provide them with an opportunity to learn more about disabilities;
  and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Tucker has further distinguished herself
  through her contributions to other local organizations, such as
  Friends Place Adult Day Services; in 2020, she played an
  instrumental role in raising funds for the center's Longest Day
  event, which benefits the Alzheimer's Association; and
         WHEREAS, Through her dedicated and compassionate efforts,
  Jane Tucker has made a positive difference in her community, and she
  has set an inspiring example of civic engagement to which others may
  aspire; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Jane Tucker for her contributions to the
  inaugural Kindness Crusade in the Richardson Independent School
  District and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Tucker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
