R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Heather Wang is concluding her service to the
  Plano Independent School District Board of Trustees in 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Wang has represented Place 4 on the board since
  2019, and she was elected as board secretary for the 2020-2021
  school year; over the course of her tenure, she has worked
  tirelessly in behalf of the district, which serves nearly 50,000
  students across 73 campuses; and
         WHEREAS, Prior to joining the board of trustees, Dr. Wang was
  appointed by the board to serve on the Diversity Advisory Committee
  and the Gifted and Talented (PACE) Advisory Committee; in addition,
  she was vice president of ways and means for the Jasper High School
  PTSA; she has further benefited the Plano community as a member of
  the Library Advisory Board, and she is a co-founder of the Youth
  Community Impact Association and the Amazing Champions
  Toastmasters Club and its Youth Leadership Program; she is a
  graduate of Plano Citizens Academy and a former president of the
  Younger Generations Children's Chorus; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Wang holds a bachelor's degree in German studies
  from Beijing Foreign Studies University, and she earned a master's
  degree and a doctorate in German literature and language at Rutgers
  University; she is currently the broker-owner of a real estate
  company; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Dr. Wang enjoys the love and
  support of a fine family that includes her husband, Jack, and her
  two daughters; she is a valued congregant of Chase Oaks Church; and
         WHEREAS, Through her unwavering commitment to public
  education, Heather Wang has greatly benefited Plano ISD students,
  and her contributions will continue to resonate in the years to
  come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Heather Wang for her service to the
  Plano Independent School District Board of Trustees and extend to
  her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Wang as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
