R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
  cause for celebration, and Dr. Harry Macey Jr. is marking that
  special milestone on April 5, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Harry Macey was born in 1933 in Memphis, Tennessee,
  to Dr. Harry Buford Macey and Virginia St. John Macey; a 1951
  graduate of Temple High School, he continued his education at
  Temple Junior College, The University of Texas at Austin, and The
  University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, earning his doctor
  of medicine degree in 1958; he went on to complete an internship at
  Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio and a residency in obstetrics and
  gynecology at Charity Hospital in New Orleans; moreover, he served
  for three years in the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force
  Base in Ohio; and
         WHEREAS, In 1969, Dr. Macey joined the staff of the Baylor
  Scott and White Clinic in Temple; he also practiced obstetrics and
  gynecology at the King's Daughters Temple Women's Clinic, retiring
  in 2000 after a long and successful career; engaged in his
  professional community, he was a founding member of the Temple
  College Foundation, and he held leadership roles with such
  organizations as the Bell County Medical Society, the Texas Medical
  Association, the Texas Association of Obstetricians and
  Gynecologists, and the American College of Obstetricians and
  Gynecologists; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Macey and his wife, Mary Ann Zinsmeyer Macey,
  shared a rewarding marriage that spanned more than six decades
  before her passing in 2016; they raised four children, Marilyn,
  Lisa, Harry, and the late Betty Ann Macey; a man of faith, Dr. Macey
  has enjoyed active membership in St. Francis Episcopal Church
  through the years; and
         WHEREAS, Respected and admired by all who are privileged to
  know him, Dr. Harry Macey may reflect with great satisfaction on a
  lifetime of achievement, and it is a pleasure to join his many
  friends and loved ones in honoring him on this memorable occasion;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Harry Macey Jr. on his 90th
  birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Macey as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
