R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived remain to comfort the
  family and friends of Stanley James Briers, who passed away on
  October 10, 2022; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Harry and Mary Briers, Stanley Briers was
  born in 1936 in Houston and grew up alongside his six siblings; he
  graduated from Saint Stanislaus in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, in
  1955 and continued his education at Tulane University and the
  University of Houston; after serving in the U.S. Army for two years,
  he returned to Houston and established a successful air
  conditioning, electrical, and plumbing company; and
         WHEREAS, Active in his professional community, Mr. Briers
  held leadership roles with a number of trade associations,
  including the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, the
  Construction Industry Council, and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling
  Contractors Association; he also served his fellow citizens as a
  precinct chair and election judge and as a member of the Knights of
  Columbus and the American Legion; and
         WHEREAS, Valuing family above all else, Mr. Briers shared a
  rewarding marriage with his wife, Carrolyn, that spanned more than
  three decades, and he took great pride in his children, Dorothy,
  Latane, Tipton, Harry, Kimberly, Kelly, Tammy, and Brandon; with
  the passing years, he had the privilege of seeing his family grow to
  include 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; in his leisure
  time, he enjoyed hunting and racing cars and boats, and he was a
  licensed pilot; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his devotion to his family, his
  generosity of spirit, and his joyous zest for life, Stanley Briers
  enriched the lives of all who knew him, and they will forever hold
  him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Stanley James
  Briers and extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Stanley
  Briers.
