R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, R. Jack Cagle concluded his service as Precinct 4 |
|
commissioner for the Harris County Commissioners Court in 2022; and |
|
WHEREAS, First taking office in 2011, Jack Cagle was |
|
reelected in 2014 and 2018; over the course of his tenure, he |
|
demonstrated a deep concern for his community while representing |
|
nearly 1.3 million residents and managing a staff of 445 employees; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Cagle further benefited his fellow residents |
|
during his 11 years as judge of Harris County Civil Court at Law |
|
No. 1; he took an active role in his professional community, |
|
holding leadership positions with the Texas Association of County |
|
Court at Law Judges and the Association of Women Attorneys; |
|
moreover, he served on the board of the Houston-Galveston Area |
|
Council and the Public Power Pool, and he was a Republican precinct |
|
chair; he has received numerous honors for his accomplishments, |
|
including an award from the Mexican-American Bar Association of |
|
Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Cagle holds a bachelor's degree in history, |
|
economics, and managerial studies from Rice University and a doctor |
|
of jurisprudence degree from Baylor School of Law; in all his |
|
endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Janet, and he |
|
takes great pride in their three children, Richard, Victoria, and |
|
Elizabeth; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his dedicated leadership and commitment to |
|
good governance, Jack Cagle has contributed immeasurably to Harris |
|
County, and he has earned the lasting respect and appreciation of |
|
his fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend R. Jack Cagle for his service as Harris |
|
County commissioner for Precinct 4 and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Cagle as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
