R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Carlo Davis |
|
retired from the Fort Hood 1st Cavalry Division on March 3, 2023, |
|
concluding an exceptional military career that spanned more than |
|
three decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Carlo Davis rose through the ranks from private to |
|
sergeant first class before attending the warrant officer basic |
|
course; he has served the army in many capacities, including as |
|
battalion and battery operations sergeant, platoon sergeant, and |
|
battalion chief fire control sergeant; some of his other titles |
|
included field artillery intelligence officer and brigade and |
|
division targeting officer, and he was an instructor/writer at the |
|
Field Artillery School; on November 30, 2018, he was promoted to |
|
chief warrant officer 5, the highest warrant officer rank in the |
|
U.S. Army, which is appointed by the Secretary of the Army; only a |
|
small fraction of officers receive this rare honor; and |
|
WHEREAS, Among his military assignments, Mr. Davis completed |
|
two tours at Fort Hood, four tours at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and five |
|
overseas tours to Korea; moreover, he was deployed to Kuwait and to |
|
Iraq, and he also served with the 25th Infantry Division in |
|
Afghanistan; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Davis earned Veterans of Foreign Wars |
|
eligibility while serving in Korea as a member of the 2nd Infantry |
|
Division; he was later named commander of VFW Post No. 9191 in |
|
Killeen; in all his endeavors, he has enjoyed the love and support |
|
of his wife, Lee Ann, and their five children; and |
|
WHEREAS, Demonstrating an exceptional commitment to the |
|
mission of the U.S. Army, Carlo Davis has greatly benefited his |
|
fellow citizens, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his |
|
outstanding record of service as he embarks on the next exciting |
|
chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 |
|
Carlo Davis on his retirement from the Fort Hood 1st Cavalry |
|
Division and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Carlo Davis as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
