R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Stephanie Herrera of Horizon Heights Elementary |
|
|
School in the Socorro Independent School District has received the |
|
|
Lavis Mentor Teacher Award from The University of Texas at El Paso |
|
|
College of Education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the Lavis Mentor Teacher Awards are |
|
|
presented to a select number of educators who have excelled in their |
|
|
duties and who have provided valuable guidance and support to UTEP |
|
|
teacher candidates; as a 2023 honoree, Ms. Herrera was awarded |
|
|
$2,500 and was celebrated at the annual College of Education |
|
|
Recognition Event on March 30; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans |
|
|
have a stake, and through her tireless efforts, Stephanie Herrera |
|
|
is helping to further the professional development of the next |
|
|
generation of teachers in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Stephanie Herrera on receiving the |
|
|
Lavis Mentor Teacher Award from The University of Texas at El Paso |
|
|
College of Education and extend to her sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Herrera as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
