R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Joseph Emmett on April 13, 2023, at the age of 76; and
         WHEREAS, Joe Emmett was born on January 30, 1947, in Dallas;
  during his youth, he served as an altar boy and took part in Scouts
  BSA Troop No. 110, and he attended Bishop Dunne Catholic School;
  after graduating from North Texas State University, he returned to
  his hometown; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Emmett became the youngest Master Plumber in the
  state and started his own business, Emmett Plumbing; after
  relocating to Huntsville in 1970, he continued to grow his company
  and served as a vocational teacher for the Windham School District;
  active in his community, he represented Ward 1 on the Huntsville
  City Council for nearly a decade; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, Mr. Emmett shared a
  rewarding marriage with his wife, Judy, that spanned 52 years, and
  he took great pride in his daughter, D'Anne, and his grandchildren,
  Samantha and Emmett; a man of faith, he was a longtime member of
  St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church of Huntsville; he enjoyed
  hunting and fishing in his leisure time; and
         WHEREAS, Although Joe Emmett is deeply missed, he has left
  his family and friends with a wealth of memories that they will
  forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Joseph Emmett and
  extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Judy Emmett; to his daughter, D'Anne; to his grandchildren,
  Samantha and Emmett; to his brother, Ross Emmett; to his sisters,
  Josephine Smith and Mary Ann Behan and her husband, John; and to his
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joe Emmett.
