R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
  memories of Robert Lys of Navasota, who passed away on December 5,
  2022, at the age of 91; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Wheelock, Robert Lys was born on July 3,
  1931, to Leopold Walter and Marie Demel Sodek Lys; he grew up with
  the companionship of two brothers, Joe and Lee, and four sisters,
  Martha, Georgia, Gladys, and Elsie, and he attended school in the
  Macey community in Brazos County before transferring to Normangee
  High School; after his graduation, he enlisted in the United States
  Air Force and served in both the U.S. and Greenland; and
         WHEREAS, Following his honorable discharge from the
  military, Mr. Lys returned home and began training to be a game
  warden; he went on to work as a game warden in Grimes and
  surrounding counties for 42 years, and even after his retirement in
  1993, he continued to serve special assignments when requested; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Lys enjoyed the love and
  support of his wife, Bessie Ann Lys, with whom he shared 67 years of
  marriage; the couple was blessed with two sons, Michael and Bobby,
  and over the years, their family grew to include five grandchildren
  and three great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Robert Lys lived a life that was rich in personal and
  professional achievements, and he will forever be remembered with
  admiration and affection by those he leaves behind; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Robert Lys and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Bessie Ann Lys; to his son, Robert Lys Jr., and his wife, Sandra; to
  his grandchildren, Melissa Lys Flournoy and her husband, Stephen,
  Kathryn Lys Mikulenka and her husband, Eric, Jonathan E. Lys and his
  wife, Lauren, Michael L. Lys and his wife, Allycenn, and Marcus L.
  Lys and his wife, Alexandra; to his great-grandchildren, Wilmarie,
  Jonah, and Lucas Lys; and to his other relatives and friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert Lys.
